The Lock-Block™ was invented by our founder, James Drew, P.Eng. with the intent to save and recycle left over ready-mix from being dumped on the ground to harden and then having to be transported to a land fill for disposal. The product quickly evolved into a retaining wall system used by engineers and governments North America wide to solve slide, highway construction projects flood barriers and erosion problems. Over the years, our blocks have become a mainstay in the construction industry, whether used in a temporary prefill or in a finished wall in a subdivision. Time and cost savings for the end user has created endless uses of the Lock-Block system. Various configurations, sizes and finishes are available in most areas. The standard block design was the first of Lock-Block Ltd.’s products to feature the signature proprietary interlocking key design, establishing the company as a leader in precast concrete block retaining wall systems. The Lock-Block units have been proven in independent engineering studies to offer greater tolerances and strength than all other comparable systems with straighter joint lines and less potential for movement of units under high-stress conditions.
All Lock-Block concrete units are made with precision forms and top grade lifting hooks that were designed by professional engineers and have a minimum safety factor of 8-1.
